Asheville Launches RealResponse to Empower Student Voices and Strengthen Campus Community
RealResponse is excited to partner with UNC Asheville as they begin the 2025-26 academic year. The university has launched RealResponse across campus, giving students an anonymous, two-way texting platform to share concerns, report misconduct, or seek support—all through the channels they already use every day.
Using text messaging, students can quickly and confidentially raise issues ranging from harassment, sexual misconduct, and discrimination to bullying, safety concerns, or general well-being matters. Students can also choose to identify themselves, continue the conversation with administrators, and receive follow-up updates—all while knowing their concerns are taken seriously.
“UNC Asheville is taking a powerful step to ensure every student feels supported and heard,” said David Chadwick, Founder and CEO of RealResponse. “By giving students a simple, trusted, and anonymous way to share concerns, UNC Asheville is reinforcing its commitment to student well-being and a safe, inclusive campus community.”
The tool connects students directly with the appropriate offices on campus, including the Office of the Dean of Students and Title IX, ensuring that concerns are addressed by the right teams.
“Launching RealResponse reflects our proactive approach to student support,” said Melanie R. Fox, Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs/Dean of Students at UNC Asheville. “We want every student to know they have a safe space to speak up and that their voices matter in shaping the UNC Asheville experience.”
With this launch, UNC Asheville joins a growing network of colleges and universities across the country that are empowering students through RealResponse to build stronger, safer, and more connected communities.
